Ucapan dukacita atas meninggalnya Theodorus Fransisco Toemion di Instagram BKPM.(Instagram BKPM)
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Mantan Kepala Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM) Theodorus Fransisco Toemion meninggal dunia pada Jumat (15/9/2023). Theodorus tutup usia pada umur 66 tahun.
"Turut berduka cita dan berbela sungkawa atas berpulangnya Bapak Theodorus Fransisco Toemion, Kepala Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM) Periode 2001-2005," tulis BKPM, dalam unggahan akun resmi Instagram-nya, dikutip Sabtu (16/9/2023).
Sebelum menjabat sebagai kepala BKPM, pria yang akrab disapa Theo itu telah malang melintang di industri keuangan dan dunia politik. Dilansir dari Kontan, Theo mengawali karir di Bank Indonesia pada 1975 hingga 1987, dengan jabatan terakhir Chief Dealer.
Pria kelahiran 1956 itu juga dikenal sebagai broker terkemuka Asia. Ia pernah bekerja sebagai broker pasar uang di Singapura dan London.
Theo kemudian terjun ke dunia politik dan sempat menjadi anggota DPR dari Fraksi PDI Perjuangan periode 1999-2004. Pada 2001, ia didapuk menjadi kepala BKPM menempati posisi kosong yang ditinggalkan Rozy Munir.
Menteri Investasi dan Kepala BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia pun menyampaikan duka cita atas kepergian Theo. Ia mengenang Theo sebagai tokoh yang memberikan sumbangsih besar bagi Indonesia.
"Dedikasi dan semangat Bapak akan selalu kami kenang. Kami berdoa semoga keluarga yang ditinggalkan diberi ketabahan dan kesabaran," kata Bahlil, melalui akun resmi Instagramnya.
