JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Modifikasi Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) gaya reli atau rally raid mulai banyak digandrungi orang Indonesia. Jadi makin beragam saja SUV dengan gaya yang berbeda, bukan cuma off-road saja, tapi ada juga rally raid.
Julian Johan atau akrab disapa Jeje, pebalap off-road nasional menjelaskan, sebenarnya rally raid bukan aliran modifikasi yang baru. Cuma di Indonesia banyak yang belum sadar saja apa yang mereka ubah pada SUV-nya mengarah ke rally raid.
"Sebenarnya modifikasi gaya rally raid bukan jarang, tapi banyak yang enggak sadar. Modifikasi gaya reli yang mereka lakukan di SUV-nya itu sebenarnya gaya rally raid," kata Jeje kepada Kompas.com, Rabu (31/1/2024).
Jeje menjelaskan, gaya rally raid dengan rally look itu sebenarnya bedanya ada di basis mobil yang digunakan. Biasanya rally look buat mobil sedan atau hatchback, sedangkan rally raid menggunakan mobil 4x4 seperti SUV atau double cabin.
"Jadi kalau aplikasikan gaya rally ke misal Fortuner atau Hilux, itu hitungannya sudah gaya rally raid," ucap Jeje.
Lebih rinci, rally raid ini persis seperti rally look, seperti pakai pelek rally yang biasanya khas dengan warna putih. Kemudian memakai kepet atau mudflap untuk penahan lumpur yang ukurannya agak besar dan cirinya warna merah biar makin terasa ala rally.
"Di luar itu, kita pasang lampu sorot di depan mobil, bisa macam-macam modelnya. Cuma ada yang membedakan antara gaya rally dengan rally raid, yaitu ada tambahan aksen seperti snorkel dan juga winch, sisanya sama," kata Jeje.
