Netflix is a handy tool for such a task and audiences have recently been tucking into Jeff Wadlow’s horror-comedy film The Curse of Bridge Hollow.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow age rating and parents guide
In the US, The Curse of Bridge Hollow has been given a TV-14 rating whereas it’s rated 12 in the UK.
Netflix Life reports that the movie has been rated as such because of some bad language laced throughout.
Of course, there are horror elements but nothing that would be considered particularly scary for young audiences. The filmmakers have taken a more comedic approach to the comedy and the genre elements can be considered more whimsical than threatening, although there are plenty of entertaining jumpscares.
As those in the UK will know, the 12 rating is actually a 12A, meaning that children under 12 can see the film if accompanied by an adult; it’s an advisory rating, which is where the A comes from.

‘We actually did at-home test screenings’
Speaking of jumpscares, Jeff recently sat down with ScreenRant and opened up about orchestrating test screenings:
“… we actually did at-home test screenings where hundreds of people are watching the movie, and we can watch them on their computer camera while they’re watching it, which is surreal. And so you try to figure out where the jumpscares are landing and how you can change them and attenuate the moment.”
He added: “Ultimately you just don’t know until you get the feedback. So it’s very satisfying for me to hear that we got you so many times.”
