I had my first cold Christmas last year and it was a bit of a shock to the system. Mainly because it was my first Christmas away from my family, but also because I wasn’t able to participate in the traditions I was used to. However, I think the northern hemisphere does Christmas better than the southern hemisphere. Like the German Christmas markets and the London lights, up north they know how to make Christmas feel magical. My mum is currently visiting and this will be her first cold Christmas – she keeps commenting on the gorgeous ways the shop fronts are decorated.
