I am currently investigating the experiences and challenges of being a person with dementia who is gay or lesbian. Little is known about the experiences of this often hidden or ignored population and these issues remain largely absent from the mainstream research agenda.

Participation in the project would involve a one-off interview (about 60 minutes) at a location of the participants' choice. I aim to interview the person with dementia alongside someone with whom they have a significant personal relationship. This could be their partner, a close friend, a carer, a befriender or other family member.

Could you please forward this link to anyone you think may be interested in taking part or who may know someone who is potentially interested:

Taking part in the project would be making a really valuable contribution that could hopefully go some way towards increasing our understanding of this population and their care needs and experiences.

Are there are other researchers here involved in similar work? Or have any experience in this area?
